Central Asia heatwave hits 46°C – kindergartens shut in Uzbekistan

Extreme heat has forced the closure of kindergartens across many regions of Uzbekistan, with temperatures reaching up to 46°C. In southern Kazakhstan, the thermometer is hitting 45°C, and other Central Asian countries are experiencing similarly dangerous conditions. The heatwave poses serious health risks to millions of people across the region.
