Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram elected new Polish Ombudsman

The Polish Sejm has elected lawyer and civic activist Sylwia Gregorczyk-Abram as the new Ombudsman. Recommended by KO and the Left, she defeated PiS candidate Adam Borowski. Her nomination had previously received a positive opinion from the parliamentary justice and human rights committee. The Senate must now confirm the appointment.
