Philippines files diplomatic protest over Chinese state media AI monkey video

The Philippines has lodged a formal diplomatic complaint with Beijing after Chinese state media posted an AI-generated video depicting a Filipino as a monkey in the context of South China Sea territorial disputes. Manila called the video deeply offensive and demanded an explanation. The incident has further strained already tense relations between the two countries over maritime boundaries.
