China furious over British Steel nationalisation: "Severe blow to investor confidence"

China's government expressed "strong dissatisfaction" after Britain nationalised British Steel on Thursday. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said the move dealt a "severe blow" to Chinese companies' confidence in investing in the UK. The UK government stepped in to protect 4,000 jobs at the Scunthorpe steelworks, 15 months after first intervening to prevent its closure.
