Sugar-coated nanoparticles boost brain cancer survival by 50% in mice
Researchers have developed an experimental therapy using sugar-coated nanoparticles to carry genetic instructions across the blood-brain barrier directly into glioblastoma cells, restoring a key tumour-suppressing protein. In mouse studies, the treatment increased median survival by 50% and shrank tumours without causing noticeable damage to other organs. Glioblastoma is one of the deadliest and hardest-to-treat brain cancers.
