Aamir Khan denies "3 Idiots" character was based on Sonam Wangchuk

Bollywood star Aamir Khan denied that his character in the 2009 film "3 Idiots" was based on educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, calling the long-running rumour untrue. He made the statement at a BFI In Conversation event at BFI Southbank during the London Indian Film Festival. The festival also marked the 25th anniversary of Khan's film "Lagaan."
