NIK Audit: Doctor Shortage Is Biggest Problem in Polish A&E Wards, Some Worked 24+ Hours Straight
Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK) has published a report on the functioning of hospital emergency departments (SOR). The key finding is a persistent shortage of doctors willing to work in emergency medicine. In nine of the inspected hospitals, some doctors worked continuous shifts of over 24 hours without a break.
