Ebola kills 797 in DR Congo with over 2,000 cases since May 2025

The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo is spreading at a record pace, with over 2,000 confirmed cases and 797 deaths recorded since May 2025, according to the World Health Organisation. The WHO warns the outbreak remains out of control in the DRC. The situation in neighbouring Uganda has slightly improved, but the DRC remains the epicentre.
