China's Chang'E-4 on Moon's far side searched for alien technosignatures

China's Chang'E-4 probe, which made the first-ever soft landing on the Moon's far side on 2 January 2019, was also used for an unusual SETI-style experiment. Scientists exploited the location's natural shielding from Earth's radio interference to search for technosignatures that might indicate alien civilisations. The experiment tested whether such signals could be remotely detected from that vantage point.
