Ex-Italian motorway chief jailed 12 years for 2018 Genoa bridge collapse that killed 43

An Italian court sentenced Giovanni Castellucci, former head of the country's motorway operator, to 12 years in prison for the 2018 collapse of the Morandi bridge in Genoa, which killed 43 people. The verdict came as part of a landmark trial into negligence in road infrastructure management. Several other officials were also handed jail terms in the same case.
