Property tax set to rise in 2026: detached garage taxed 10x more than integrated one

Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) has published data allowing estimates of next year's property tax increases. The current system is inconsistent: owners of expensive city apartments can pay less than rural homeowners. The starkest anomaly involves garages — one integrated into a house costs around 30 PLN per year, while an identical detached garage costs nearly 300 PLN annually.
