Telstra blames outdated timekeeping software for nationwide Australian network outage
Telstra has told an Australian Senate inquiry that last week's nationwide mobile network outage was caused by a failure to update critical timekeeping software, combined with maintenance teams being unaware of a design change affecting the system's reset behaviour. The outage disrupted mobile phones, train services and retailers across Australia. CEO Vicki Brady appeared before the Senate inquiry on Friday.
