US Soccer faces significant organisational uncertainty after the World Cup, with both the head coach and sporting director positions vacant. Mauricio Pochettino's contract, partly funded by billionaire donors, expired at the tournament's end with no decision on his future. Matt Crocker left as sporting director in April to take a similar role in Saudi Arabia, and the federation says it will "take a break" before addressing the gaps.
