Russia's elite Sandworm hackers adopt Clickfix technique to target Ukraine
Ukraine's CERT warned that Sandworm, an elite hacking unit of Russia's GRU military intelligence, has begun using the Clickfix attack technique against Ukrainian organisations since spring. Clickfix tricks victims into copying text from a fake CAPTCHA prompt into their terminal, which then executes malicious scripts to install malware or steal data. The technique was previously associated mainly with financially motivated cybercriminals.
