Kawa beaten by Udvardy in WTA 250 Romania quarterfinals after promising start

Katarzyna Kawa reached the last 16 of the WTA 250 event in Romania by beating Swiss player Waltert 2-0, just eight days after losing to her in Bastad. In the round of 16 she held a promising lead against world No. 71 Panna Udvardy of Hungary, but ultimately lost 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. The Polish player exits the tournament despite a competitive three-set battle.
