Expert: PiS nominates Borowski as Ombudsman to discredit the institution

Poland's Law and Justice party (PiS) has nominated Adam Borowski for the post of Commissioner for Human Rights (RPO) — a candidate who mocks women's strikes and has declared he would defend far-right activist Robert Bąkiewicz against what he calls the "oppressive state". Prof. Anna Wojciuk says the nomination is a deliberate strategy to discredit the ombudsman institution, mirroring a broader global right-wing trend of dismantling human rights bodies.
