England to ban energy drink sales to under-16s from April 2026

England will ban the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to children under 16 from April 2026 under new health legislation. Around 100,000 children currently consume these drinks daily, with higher rates among those from more deprived households. The government says such drinks "have no place in children's hands" and the law is designed to improve health outcomes for young people.
