Poland to abolish legal incapacitation with new supported decision-making law
Poland may pass a law on supported decision-making instruments this year, replacing the current system of legal incapacitation. Dr Monika Zima-Parjaszewska, president of the Polish Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities, called the existing system "oppressive." The reform aims to strengthen the rights of people with disabilities, though some families have raised concerns about its implications.
