New John Wick film officially set for 2027 release

After Ballerina (starring Ana de Armas ) lit the world on fire last year — despite an underwhelming box office performance — fans have no John Wick movie to look forward to in 2026. Lionsgate has confirmed that Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski are working on a fifth installment in the mainline action franchise, but the duo is still in the process of deciding where they want to take the story, so it’s entirely too early to predict when it could be released. Stahelski has been busy this year filming the Highlander reboot starring Henry Cavill , but it’s expected that he will begin focusing solely on John Wick: Chapter 5 once he’s finished with Highlander . There is another John Wick movie coming soon, though, and it will be the first of its kind.
