Poland pushes for slower EU emissions trading reform ahead of post-2030 proposals

The European Commission will present its proposed reform of the EU Emissions Trading System on 17 July, setting the direction for post-2030 climate policy. Poland has demanded slower reductions in emission allowances and greater support for industry. Expert Kamil Laskowski of the Instrat Foundation says the outcome will be a course correction rather than an abandonment of the EU's climate trajectory.
