Classical machine learning can reliably detect LLM-generated text

A researcher demonstrates that classical machine-learning algorithms — such as logistic regression and random forests — can effectively detect text generated by large language models (LLMs), without relying on another LLM to do so. The approach is shown to be both accurate and computationally cheaper than neural-network-based detection methods. The findings suggest traditional ML techniques remain practically useful in the generative AI era.
