Super Mario 64 ported to Panasonic 3DO in quirky retro dev project

Developer Eyepatch Entertainment is building a ground-up 3D engine for the Panasonic 3DO retro console to run Super Mario 64, using assets from the game's official decompilation. Rather than a traditional port, the project renders the game via the 3DO's CEL co-processor. Early footage shows a functional — if eerie-looking — version of Nintendo's classic platformer running on the 1990s machine.
