National Gallery of Armenia in Yerevan: 42,000 works and unique medieval frescoes

The National Gallery of Armenia in Yerevan, founded in 1921, is the country's largest fine arts museum with over 42,000 works of art. Its collection includes masterpieces by Hovhannes Aivazovsky, Arshile Gorky, Marc Chagall and Wassily Kandinsky, alongside unique medieval Armenian church frescoes. The museum also holds an archive of approximately 200,000 items including photographs, letters and personal documents.
