IBM achieves 0.7 nm chip technology with vertical Nanostack transistors

IBM has demonstrated a 0.7 nm lithography technology using its Nanostack architecture, which stacks transistors vertically rather than placing them side by side. The breakthrough could extend CMOS chip scaling by another decade without hitting hard physical limits. The technology is currently a proof-of-concept and is not yet ready for standard manufacturing processes.
