Mercosur food imports did not flood Poland – May data shows trade decline
Despite widespread fears, agricultural and food products from Mercosur countries have not flooded the Polish market since the trade agreement entered into force in May, according to Dr Łukasz Ambroziak of the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics. Initial May data actually show a decline in trade with those countries. Earlier speculation about a wave of cheap South American food proved unfounded, at least in the short term.
