Moonshot's Kimi K3 to be China's largest open AI model with up to 3 trillion parameters

China's Moonshot AI is preparing to release Kimi K3, an open-weight AI model with between 2 and 3 trillion parameters, according to the Financial Times. It would be the largest open AI model ever released from China. The model is expected to close the performance gap with Anthropic's Opus 4.8.
