Slovak woman dies after eating cheese bought from Polish street seller

A 63-year-old woman from the Slovak village of Lutise bought cheese from a Polish seller who was offering food products from his car boot outside a church. She was infected with a dangerous bacterium and died in hospital after a month-long fight for her life. Slovak sanitary authorities seized goods that were stored only in ordinary plastic bags, pointing to a serious breach of food storage rules.
