France legalises assisted dying for adults with incurable illnesses

The French parliament on 19 July adopted a bill legalising assisted dying for adults suffering from incurable, life-threatening illnesses. Patients will be able to request lethal medication under strict medical supervision. The law now goes to the constitutional court, which has up to one month to approve it.
