Katowice Surgeons Perform Rare Brain Bypass on 15-Year-Old Stroke Survivor
Neurosurgeons in Katowice performed a rare cerebral bypass operation on a 15-year-old girl named Maja, who had previously suffered a stroke and was at risk of further brain ischaemia. The procedure is among the most technically demanding vascular brain surgeries and is extremely rarely performed on children, requiring watchmaker-level precision. The successful supermicrosurgery significantly reduced Maja's risk of a further stroke.
