ICE pauses traffic stops after fatal shootings — Trump contradicts the move
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were ordered to pause most traffic stops following two fatal shootings, but border tsar Tom Homan insisted it was a "temporary pause" and not a policy change. On 15 July, President Trump appeared to undermine his own agency by publicly urging the continuation of traffic stops. Anti-ICE protests continue in Maine, where a 25-year-old Colombian man was fatally shot by agents two days earlier.
