Gold reserves by share: Uzbekistan and Tajikistan outrank Poland and Western powers
Data from the World Gold Council shows that when measured by gold's percentage share of total reserves, the top countries are not Western powers but nations hit by crises, sanctions or unconventional monetary policy — such as Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Venezuela. The USA, Germany and China lead only in nominal tonnage. Poland does not feature in the top 30 by percentage share, even though it holds significant gold tonnage in absolute terms.
