Poland's 100+ M1A1FEP tanks face costly upgrade after US ends logistics support

Poland is set to receive all ordered M1 Abrams tanks by the end of 2026, but over 100 of them are the older M1A1FEP variant not included in the Ministry of Defence's technical modernisation plan. The US has announced it will end logistics support for all M1A1-family operators, potentially forcing Poland into an expensive upgrade programme. Without modernisation, Poland risks operating two incompatible armoured fleets with separate logistics chains.
