TSMC to invest $100 billion in Arizona AI chip factories

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) announced Thursday a $100 billion plan to build semiconductor factories in Arizona. The investment is aimed at meeting surging demand for artificial intelligence chips. It is one of the largest planned capital outlays in the history of the US chip industry.
