Australian woman bitten by deadly eastern brown snake caught in bike chain

A woman in her 60s was bitten by a two-metre eastern brown snake — one of the world's most venomous reptiles — after the snake became entangled in her bicycle chain on a popular rail trail near Burringbar in New South Wales, Australia. She ran over the snake while riding the northern rivers trail in the Tweed Shire. The woman survived and is recovering.
