US congressman demands Pentagon plan to redeploy troops to Poland

Republican Congressman Don Bacon, a leading critic of the abrupt withdrawal of a US armoured brigade from Poland in May 2026, has called on the Pentagon to produce a concrete plan for redeploying American troops there. Bacon had previously described the withdrawal decision and the manner in which it was made as "shameful." His appeal reflects growing Congressional concern over the security of NATO's eastern flank.
