EU to Restrict Temporary Protection for Ukrainian Men of Military Age Without Proof of Legal Departure
EU member states agreed on 15 July new rules on temporary protection for Ukrainians subject to military duty. Newly arrived men of military age will not automatically receive protection unless they prove they legally left Ukraine or are exempt from military service. The decision still requires formal approval by the EU Council.
