EU Charges €3 Duty on Every Chinese Online Shopping Parcel From 1 July
From 1 July 2025, the EU imposes a €3 customs duty on every product category contained in small online shopping parcels, primarily those arriving from China. Economist Witold Orłowski sees this as likely just the opening move in an escalating trade dispute between the EU and China. The new charge primarily targets platforms such as Temu and Shein, which previously shipped goods duty-free to European consumers.
