NextEra and Dominion seek approval to merge and serve 10 million customers in the Southeast

Energy companies NextEra and Dominion have filed for regulatory approval in three states and with a federal agency to merge into a single large power company. The combined entity would serve 10 million customers across the southeastern United States. The deal still awaits regulatory clearance.
