Legionella found in California state building water just after Newsom's return-to-office order

Legionella bacteria, which can cause potentially fatal Legionnaires' disease pneumonia, was found in the water system of a California state government building. The discovery came shortly after Governor Gavin Newsom issued a return-to-office mandate for state employees. Legionella can contaminate human-made water systems including plumbing, shower heads and air conditioning units.
