Black doctors in England four times less likely to get NHS training places than white peers
Black doctors in England are four times less likely to be offered an NHS training placement than white counterparts, according to an analysis of NHS data. For one speciality, black applicants had less than a 1-in-100 chance of being offered a place. The disparity spans fields including psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, and emergency medicine.
