FCC to vote August 6 on scrapping US broadcast ownership cap
FCC Republican Chair Brendan Carr announced in a Breitbart op-ed that the commission will vote on August 6 to eliminate the national broadcast ownership cap, which currently bars any single company from owning TV stations reaching more than 39% of US households. Removing the cap could allow media giants to dominate the US airwaves. The vote has drawn concern from media diversity advocates.
