EU and Ukraine sign "drone deal" for joint production of battlefield UAVs

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a "drone deal" between the EU and Ukraine on Wednesday, aimed at boosting joint production of drones — a key battlefield technology. Ukraine has already signed similar agreements with individual EU member states and Gulf nations seeking to benefit from Kyiv's expertise developed over four years of war with Russia. The deal establishes joint ventures to accelerate drone manufacturing capacity.
