New monkey species with orange lips discovered in Congo rainforest

Scientists have identified a new monkey species, Colobus congoensis, living in a remote region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The animal has distinctive orange lips and makes unique roaring and snorting sounds; in the local Kilanga language it is called "likweli." It is only the fifth new monkey species identified in Africa in the past 75 years, and researchers believe further unknown primate species may still exist in the region.
