Martyna Kubka wins 6:0, on the verge of qualifying for US Open
Martyna Kubka, a 25-year-old Polish tennis player from Zielona Góra, opened her tournament in Vitoria-Gasteiz with a 6:0 win, finishing with an overall score of 28:4. Currently ranked 221st in the WTA, she needs to break into the top 220 by July 27 — the cut-off date for US Open qualifying entries. With points from last week and this week's results set to be added, she is on course to earn her first shot at qualifying for a Grand Slam.
