Poland may abolish legal incapacitation for disabled people by end of 2025
A bill replacing legal incapacitation with a supported decision-making framework could be passed in Poland before the end of 2025, according to Dr Monika Zima-Parjaszewska, head of the Polish Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities. The reform would strengthen the rights of people with disabilities by allowing them to make their own decisions with support, rather than having a guardian decide for them. Some families have raised concerns about the practical consequences of the change.
