Orbital Map Shows Perseverance's Route to Broom Point on Jezero Crater Rim

NASA released an orbital map showing the path taken by the Perseverance rover to reach the "Broom Point member," a sequence of layered bedrock likely more than 3.9 billion years old on Jezero Crater's outer rim. The rover landed inside the crater on 18 February 2021, explored the western delta and Neretva Vallis river valley, and summited the crater rim in December 2024 after an 800-metre climb. Broom Point is situated on the outer edge of that rim.
