WGA sues over Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery merger, citing antitrust concerns

The Writers Guild of America (WGA West and WGA East) filed a federal lawsuit in Northern California against the planned merger of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery. The guild argues the deal would reduce competition, suppress writers' pay and cut the number of productions and jobs in the industry. The lawsuit came a day after 12 state attorneys general filed their own suit seeking to temporarily block the transaction.
