Deaf community shut out of gene-editing debate

The British Deaf Association warns that deaf people are being excluded from public debate on gene editing. New polling for the Progress Educational Trust shows UK public support for germline editing to correct life-threatening conditions, but no majority backs its use for non-life-threatening ones like deafness. The BDA's Tom Lichy criticises scientists who view eradication of hereditary conditions as inevitable.
