NIK audit: Warsaw's South Hospital doctors treated private patients on public time and equipment

Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK) published an audit report on 15 July revealing that doctors at Warsaw's South Hospital treated private patients during hours contracted by the public insurer NFZ and using public equipment. The audit also uncovered the existence of a so-called VIP lounge within the facility. The findings point to systematic financial abuse at the expense of the public healthcare system.
