Cardinal Dziwisz Again Skips Court Appearance, Citing Stress

Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, the former Archbishop of Kraków and secretary to John Paul II, has again failed to appear in court where he was summoned as a witness. He sent a written statement saying he cannot take part in proceedings that cause him stress, and asked the court not to summon him further. Dziwisz has been linked to investigations into the concealment of clerical abuse cases within the Catholic Church.
